I woke up this morning thinking about a family trip I took back in 2005. My family and I took a train from NW Ohio to Seattle, and rented a Ford Freestar to drive down the coast to San Fransisco and back. That made me think, I can’t even think of the last time I saw a Ford Freestar, even though they were the “flagship” minivan for Ford for a few years. That’s surprising to me considering they aren’t very old.
So Oppo, what other normal, boring cars do you never see even though they were mass produced and not very old?

Ford Flex, all generations. They look like an awesome station wagon but it’s a shame they aren’t selling enough for me to see them everyday.

You can't turn around without stepping on one of these here. I guess it's pretty polarizing.

Bubble-body Mercury Sables, or really the Taurus as well, but particularly the Sable. They were common enough when new they were one of my favorite car spots, but I can’t even recall the last time I saw one of these Sables. Vulcan V6 attrition rates, I guess...

There’s a reason you don’t see them. They were wretched things. Also, Windstar. I’m pretty sure I see more Aerostars than either of the other two.
Current gen Impala get's my vote though, at least around here. I think you'll find there's a lot of regional preference on this question.

Nissan Leaf. Not sure if this one counts, but I feel like around Jalopnik — especially for people in larger urban areas — these things are everywhere. I took a daytrip to Atlanta and saw five in one short drive in town, despite having only seen a total of one in the few years prior.
I see at least 10 Teslas for every Leaf, seriously.

Agreed. Everywhere around here. I go back and forth between liking and hating them.

There are tons in GA because of all the incentives they had. Plus some pretty strong marketing and events where they installed charging stations in popular areas in medium sized cities like mine.

This.
I saw them all the time when they were first produced, now it seems they all but vanished. The 500 was a decent car, just seemed to have a short run and even shorter life span.

All generations of the Galant. It's like they caught an automotive version of Small Pox.

I saw the original late 80’s Chrysler Mini Van this morning and thought to myself, holy shit I haven’t seen one of those in forever. I was amazed that it was the same size as a long wheel base transit connect that I saw a few minutes later.

Aerostar too. You can barely give away the ones that are left.

Just looking through these is hilarious, we have a Ford Flex, Ford Freestar, Ford 500, AND a bubble body Sable all in my high school parking lot. I guess its a NW Iowa thing.
That's gonna leave a mark!

Tesla. I’m told they are as common as dirt on the west cost but they as rare as a bald eagle here in fly over country . I guess when you sell 50,000 a year and most go to the west coast, that means they get spread pretty thin everywhere else.

Ford Escapes. (current gen)
The only time I’ve ever seen one is when we rented one in Raleigh, NC to get to the beach.
